A DIY Guest Bathroom {a tour with links to all the DIY projects)

Hello friends!

Today I though it would be fun to add our guest bathroom to the 'Our Home' page. After all, it's a space that we completely transformed from builder grade to a guest bathroom that is more inviting and appealing....one DIY project at a time!

During this guest bathroom tour, I will be including links to all of the DIY projects that have transformed this once drab guest bathroom to a lighter and fresher one with more character.

The only thing missing is a before picture. I started this guest bath makeover way before my blogging days and had no intention of recording it's ugliness. But I'm sure you'll forgive me for that.

Decoupage Boxes Using Book Pages

Sooooo....

What do you get when a girl is in love with Mod Podge and book pages AND has a set of boxes that are in serious need of a face lift?

You get these fabulous DECOUPAGE BOXES USING BOOK PAGES. But I'm sure you already knew that from the title. Smarty pants.

It's kind of like faking a face lift with makeup instead of actually going under the knife. "Under the knife" in this instance meaning buying a new set of boxes.

If you know me, you know I get quite the kick out of giving old, ugly, trash worthy objects a second chance with makeovers.

And a second chance did these boxes get!

Rustic Industrial Chalkboard {and how my daughter was jipped of it on her birthday}

Affiliated links are contained within this post.

Confession time: I am extremely attracted to chalkboards. My chalkboard collection continues to grow and I don't think that will stop anytime soon.

Can you blame me? Who doesn't love chalkboards, right?

They're awesome. They're classic. They're useful. Their text can be easily changed with a swipe. Need I go on?

I'm also into touches of rustic and industrial in the home. Remember my Rustic Kitchen Sign and Rustic Coat Rack? That's evidence, people. Evidence that I'm on a rustic roll!

This fabulous RUSTIC INDUSTRIAL CHALKBOARD first made it's appearance in my Hanging Gold Leaves Art Fall Decor, but I wanted to show this little beauty in a post all of it's own because it's totally worthy of it, if I do say so myself.

DIY Market Scrap Wood Sign {And The Easy Method for Transferring Text to Wood!}

Hello my peeps!

I'm sure you've all seen those amazing rustic wood signs that have been floating through blog-land fo-eva!

Any person who's into the rustic style owns at least one of these signs!

I'm not all rustic but it's no surprise that I'm totally into adding small touches of rustic around the house. Have you seen my DIY Rustic Coat Rack? How about my kitchen floors

I've been craving for a rustic wood sign ever since seeing this sign from Liz @ Love Grows Wild!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the charm and warmth they bring! They're just so fun!

BUT....

I had a problem when it came to getting the perfect font onto the wood.

I don't own a fancy Silhouette Cameo.

Nor did the chalk transfer method work for me. Actually, it was just a big mess!

Nor did I dare free hand it because, well...my penmanship sucks.

I thought I'd never get my rustic wood sign....sigh.

And then....

I found a solution!

I did the happy dance for days people. Days.

Because it not only meant that I'd get my DIY RUSTIC SCRAP WOOD SIGN but that I now had a solution for transferring ANY text or ANY image to wood!!

And yes. That's totally a big deal around here.
