I totally dig storage bins.
But sometimes the form they come in aren't always stylish or fit the space.
So today, I'm going to show you how you can easily personalize any old plain bin into an awesome one!
The bin I happened to have is one from the dollar store.
Since we built these shelves in our master bathroom, I knew I wanted to store things like toilet paper and wash cloths on them and I knew they HAD to be housed in pretty bins!
I'm sure you've all seen the above bin at your local dollar stores. They're functional but not very easy on the eyes.
So what does a DIY gal do? She gets to work!
HOW TO PERSONALIZE A PLAIN DOLLAR STORE BIN:
You will need your old bin, a glue gun with glue sticks, a pencil, ruler and scissors (not pictured-why do I always forget an item?!)
I used the same technique I used on my DIY Storage Boxes, so for the sake of not re-doing the tutorial, you can just check that out. It's soooo easy, I promise!!
And this is the end result!!
I love this chevron striped fabric!!
It reminds me a lot of my Chevron Striped China Cabinet, don't you think so?
And they're such a nice addition to our master bathroom makeover (which is almost done)!
I'm debating adding pipe strap pulls to them...what do you think?
Do you like giving new life to old items?
