I'm happy to announce that Operation Office Space has officially launched!
It's not completely ready, but it's a start. And I couldn't be more excited!
If you read my project goals for 2014, you know that creating an office space was one of my goals (along with redoing our master bedroom and bathroom).
Just so you know, this isn't going to be a full blown out office room but more of an office space. Our 1,350 sq. ft. home will not accommodate me with a room all for myself (darn it!) Not unless we throw Lily out on the living room or tear down some walls. Neither of which are going to be happening.
So I had to get to thinking....
An office space in our bedroom is a big no no for me. I want to go in my bedroom to relax, not work. So this was not an option.
My only option was to use the space that was intended to be the dining area and that we've been using as a sitting area.
This is what it looked like before Operation Office Space:
It's actually a nice sized corner that leaves plenty of room for Lily to play in as you can see.
And it gets plenty of natural light since our sliding doors are on the opposite wall. I LOVE natural light!
Pretty much, what I have so far is a desk that used to be my vanity table. I'm using one of my chairs (that were in my very first post) at my desk and I think it goes quite well!
Here are a couple more pictures of what I have at this point:
Yes, it was January when I took these pictures and I still had my Christmas chalkboard art up!
The desk I am using was actually a vanity. Since I re-organized my makeup and moved it to the bathroom, I turned the mirror into a chalkboard and was left with a small desk! Perfect!
I'm not the only one fond of this new space...
Now that you've seen what I have thus far, here is my favorite part: the inspiration for where I want to take this space!
I definitely need more space to store books, papers and pretty things!
I like the idea of using the wall space above my desk to pin important information and such.
I think building shelves above my pretty little desk would be a nice solution for storage!
I'm all for not taking up floor space!
Do you have any more ideas or suggestions for this space?
If you have any photos and such feel free to email them to me! I'm still open for inspiration! I may just pin them to my Office Organization & Ideas Pinterest board!
