Christmas is almost here so I thought I'd better get it together and post something Christmas-y.
What kind of blogger would I be if I didn't include any DIY Christmas decor to my collection?
So today I bring to you my very first Christmas post!
This DIY garland is easy, fun and you can be very resourceful, too!
I saw this on a blog last week (can't for the life of me remember which one!!) and just knew I had to give it a try!
And I already had all the supplies needed!
If you don't have the supplies: get in your car, drive to the Dollar Tree where I'm sure you will be graced with more than enough options for this project, buy what you need and continue...
You're not going to like me. I forgot to take pictures of the process. Again. I got caught up in the moment and my camera was nowhere near this giddy girl while she made a glittery mess in the kitchen.
But I promise you, it's so easy, you'll be able to follow my written directions.
How To Make A Garland Out Of Christmas Ornaments:
1. Take your twine or rope and measure enough to cover the area that it will be hung across.
2. Decide how far apart you want your ornaments to be. You can mark each section with a marker or just eyeball it like I did.
Make sure to leave about 6 inches on each side. This is what you will use to tie and hang.
3. Use the thinner twine (I used baker's twine) to individually tie each Christmas Ornament to the rope or twine.
This will ensure your ornaments don't slide down.
I recommend tying double knots. Those suckers kept coming off with just one knot!
4. Once you have all your ornaments securely tied to the rope or twine simply tie from hook to hook or curtain rod to curtain rod like I did. Again, double...no, triple knot these!! Better be on the safe side!
Don't they look so fabulous hanging over the mirror above our fireplace?
I made another one to hang over my sliding doors that lead to the back yard.
They're so pretty, I may just leave them on all year round! After all, I do love Christmas!
