Wet n Wild Mega Last Lip Color Review

Hello my lipstick lovin' peeps! Welcome to my very first review! Today I will be reviewing the two Wet n Wild Mega Last Lip Colors that I purchased at my local Dollar General over the weekend. There is actually 20 lip colors available but I only purchased 2 (after all I did just clean out my makeup stash here-I definitely don't want an overflow of products over night).. I love when companies give you more than 5 color choices!

The colors I have are Mauve Outta Here( 907C)- a cool toned purple pink and Spotlight Red-a bright true red (911D)

Here is the product's description from Walgreens:

Lips take center stage! This 4-hour, long-wearing lip color leaves a semi-matte, crème finish in one stroke.

- Glides on easily with rich, velvety color that doesn't cake, feather, or bleed
- Made with hydrating skincare ingredients
- Hyaluronic microspheres provide extraordinary adhesion to lips
- An exclusive polymer complex offers cushion like feel and texture
- Natural marine plant extracts coenzyme Q10 and vitamins A&E help smooth lips

And here is what I think of these little darlings:

What I love
1. They are true to color:
I have a hard time getting the color I see in the tube to appear on my very pigmented lips. I normally have to neutralize my lips with foundation or concealer to get close to the color I see in the tube. I didn't do that with these lip colors and I was very pleased with how the color appeared on my lips.

*My skin looks 10 shades lighter than in the previous photo and it isn't because I skipped tanning sessions (I don't do that by the way), that's just lighting. One day I will have a photographer following me around and creating the perfect lighting!

2. The finish:
At the store they were described as semi matte with a creamy formula. I would say that description is pretty accurate. The color doesn't look dry but isn't all glossy either. It's the perfect medium for me. I also appreciate that there is no shimmer, frost or speck of any kind in the formula. They are definitely very "grown up."

3. The formula:
These lipsticks are very creamy so therefore glide on easily, but aren't slippery to where you have to be very careful with application.

4. The color selections:
With 20 lip colors to choose from you will feel like a little girl at a candy store! There is a color for everyone. And they're not all pinks and reds either! They have some pretty vampy colors as well as wines and corals. Vampy Varnish has a very thorough review on 19 of them. You can check that out here.

5. Their longevity:
They claim to last for up to 4 hours. It's true, they do! I wore the red one to church where I help lead prayer and praise and worship and after the service it was still on. How do I know? I had to wipe it off before eating at our church cafe (I always have to wipe off lip products before I eat!) We have 2 services; in the morning I had it on from 9:00-2:00 and in the evening from 4:00- 8:00, both times it still looked pretty good before having to remove it.

6. The colors I chose did not make my teeth appear yellow:
The red lip color actually made them look whiter! That is pretty awesome in my book!

7. The price:
These colorful babies retail from $2-$4, depending on where you purchase. (Available at WalMart, Target, Walgreens, pretty much any drugstore!)

What I don't love (but am not being overly picky about)

1. The round shape of the lipstick tip:
I prefer a pointed tip shape for easier application. I have somewhat of a prominent cupid's bow and the round shape makes it a little challenging to apply to that area without going over my lip line. But I figure I can always use a lip brush.

2. Not as moisturizing as they claim to be:
I always apply lip balm before applying any lip color so application was smooth and easy. However, as the hours progress, I find my lips feeling a tad bit dry. But nothing a little lip balm can't fix!

As you can see, my pros outweigh my cons, so overall I love these lipsticks!!! There's so many colors to choose from, they're fun, creamy and long lasting! I am so going to get more soon!

Out of the two colors I have which one do you like best? Or which ones have you tried and love? I'd love to know!

When I first stumbled upon these lipsticks I thought they were the matte ones Wet and Wild came out with first so I past up on them. I'm glad they're not as matte. Now to the drugstore I go!

Hi Steph! Yeah, it can be confusing because the packaging is the same as the matte ones. I had one of the matte one's but I threw it away...way too drying for me! But these are awesome! I hope you give them a try!
And thank you for following!!
